Weekly Photo Challenge: Carefree

Ramblings, Travel

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take…but by the moments that take our breath away

Gem Beach – Terengganu, Malaysia

This photo was taken on the beach in my birth town of Terengganu, Malaysia 5 years ago. The beautiful, untouched, deserted beach was so tranquil and serene and truly represents ‘Carefree’ to me. All your worries and stresses seem to be washed away when you stand alone, staring out into the crystal blue ocean.

The culture and lifestyle are so different in Malaysia, compared to the UK and every time I visit, it puts my own life into perspective.

Life is a constant battle and to get you through the challenging times you need to live life a bit more carefree and not taking things too seriously.

We all seem to care too much about the things that don’t matter – I am guilty of that myself sometimes. And our importance in society seems to be measured on materialistic things that are unimportant in the larger scheme of things.

Who cares about the size house you have? Or the size of your diamond ring? Or what job title you have? At the end of the day we are all human beings “living on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam” – Carl Sagan

Science Quote

I have come to realise that my main priorities are to maintain good relationships with my friends and family, because they are the ones that will support you if it all goes wrong!
