House Project: House Hunting Update

Events, Home Projects, Property, Ramblings

I thought I’d give you an update on my house hunting progress since I pulled out of buying the last one. It hasn’t been going very well to be honest!

I’ve been so busy that I just haven’t really had the time or brain space to think about it at the moment. What happened with the last house also left me feeling deflated and I’ll admit that I’ve actually been putting off looking because I can’t be bothered with all the hassle again yet! I realise that it’s going to be a lot harder finding something affordable and in a decent location where I feel comfortable living.

Nearly two months have passed since the last house fell through and I need to get my act together. I’m going to set myself some house hunting goals this week.

  1. Spend 30 minutes every day keeping an eye out for new properties available
  2. I need to stop letting a bad experience put me off looking and get myself excited again. For some reason looking for a house has felt like a chore to me the past two months and I don’t know why. I need to snap out of it!
  3. I need to sit down and allocate time to gather my last few months pay slips again so I can get another mortgage in principle sorted. This is the bit I hate doing because I really dislike those menial admin tasks.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will have made some progress!

Here’s a bit of a blog update to end on a positive note!

I’m heading to London again on Wednesday for the Amara Interior Blog Awards ceremony at the Design Museum. I’m shortlisted for ‘Best Interior Designer Blog’ and up against five other blogs from around the world. I can’t wait to see the museum and meet the other bloggers! I’m not going to get my hopes up though because all the other blogs are really good in that category. I’m just grateful that I’m able to take part! Wish me luck anyway 🙂
