London Design Festival

September is such a significant month as it coincides with so many transitions; Summer to Autumn, the start of the new school year and the exciting activities happening in London Design Festival. It’s such an exciting time for all with fresh starts and new beginnings! I’ll be exploring and sharing my experiences from London Design Festival later this month so make sure to check out my discoveries on Instagram and my blog. I attended last year and you can read my round up of top finds here. This year I’m thinking of visiting Design Junction as I’ve never been before, but I also love the look of some of the sustainable product exhibitions.

I love visiting design events as they are a perfect opportunity for me as an Interior Designer to discover new products and trends as well as meet other like-minded creatives. It’s just a shame there aren’t as many events happening in the North of the UK….

Concept North September Meet Up

…and this is where Concept North comes into place! Melinda Kiss and I are creating unique interiors and property events for the design community in the North of England and we’re so excited for the first one. Our events will be a relaxed place for designers, architects, artists, makers, property developers and interiors brands to collaborate and access business support within inspiring spaces. We amongst many other designers and brands struggle to get to the design events that are happening throughout the year in London, so we wanted to contribute to that change and organise our own!

Launch Event

Our first meet up is being held in Liverpool on 27th Sept in The Florist and will have a little twist to the usual networking event. For our launch we have collaborated with The Florist and they will provide a drink on arrival and food tasting from their new winter menu. We have organised live music, guest talks and we will share more details about our vision.

Our guest speakers include Laura Cockett from A Bigger Conversation, sharing 5 tips to better presenting as well as The Jones Boys, sharing insight into their successful artistic venture. You can find out more about both guest speakers on our website event listing.

The Florist is a beautiful restaurant with a sensory experience including gorgeous design details hidden within every corner. Make sure to have a look at what we’re doing and if you’d like to be part of our community you can book tickets here! There are limited spaces and ticket sales close on 20th Sept.

We have a competition running on Instagram at the moment where three individuals will win a free ticket to the first event, a bottle of Prosecco and an extra special goody bag with a few surprises. The winner will be on Sunday evening so make sure to enter here. Help us spread the word!

If you haven’t noticed yet, I have just launched my brand new website and I’m over the moon with it! Jovie Labarinto has worked her magic on a new design and I’m so happy with what she has created. My aim was to create a visual hub for interior design, travel, art and architecture inspiration and advice with a clean look that’s visually engaging and easy to navigate. Please take some time to have a look around the site and I’d love to know what you think.

If you like the new design my blog has been nominated in the Amara Blog Awards this year for ‘Best Interior Designer Blog’ and voting closes very soon. It would mean so much to me if you can vote!

Amara Interior Blog Awards are giving away a Leica camera to one lucky voter. Vote for me to be entered into the giveaway!

  1. Fantastic new venture and I’m sure it will be super popular. I live in Devon and I really struggle to attend events in London as the exorbitant train fares are really prohibitive often costing in the region of £200 return. It’s just not doable and I wish things weren’t always taking place in London. Good luck with the event and your new design looks fantastic!

  2. Loving the new look and good luck with the Concept North event! Even though I live in Surrey I find the whole week of London Design overwhelming trying to cram everything in and it’s just not doable from a personal level!

  3. Fantastic idea!! I’m always so sad to have to refuse events but simply cannot affort the trips to London which is a real shame. Looking forward to more events up here!
