I recently designed and styled a small studio apartment for an overseas investor, so I thought it was about time to share a blog showing the before and after shots.
This apartment is 1 of 150 within a red brick warehouse building on the outskirts of Liverpool, so it was really important to make it stand out from the crowd to catch people’s attention on Airbnb. The studio was a blank canvas with plain walls, basic furniture and it looked very similar to many other apartments in the city.

Before
The brief was to create something that stood out from the other apartments using a traditional British style and to bring some character into the space. I created a design with a playful twist using colour inspiration from the Union Jack, British culture and travel. I wanted it to feel homely, yet also be fun, with quirky artwork and bold colours so that it would stand out when people were searching for somewhere to stay.

“As I do not live in the UK, It was very difficult for me to furnish my apartment. For that reason, I wanted to cooperate with an honest and trustworthy professional who would also take care of my budget. Natalie delivered me a beautifully decorated flat with a unique style within the time agreed time limits. Natalie maintains a positive attitude and is the kind of professional you really enjoy working with.” – Overseas investor
I hope you enjoyed reading the thought process behind the design of this Airbnb. I’m currently working on a few residential projects but once they’re complete, I’ll make sure to share more before and after blogs!
