Renovation Strategy Session FAQ's
Most homeowners benefit from stepping back before making big decisions. The best place to start is by understanding your property, your priorities, your likely constraints, and the right sequence of decisions. That’s exactly what our Renovation Strategy Session is designed to help with.
The answer depends on the property and the scope of work, but in general, the most important thing is to make strategic decisions in the right order — especially around layout, structural thinking, budget priorities and who needs to be involved. We help you identify what should come first, what can wait, and how to avoid decisions that create problems later.
No. Many of our clients come to us before they’ve appointed an architect, builder or designer. This session is often most useful at that earlier point, when you need clarity on what kind of help you need and what steps make sense next.
Not at all. The session is valuable for a wide range of projects — from single-storey reconfigurations and partial upgrades to more extensive whole-house renovations. If the decisions feel significant, this level of clarity can be useful.
Renovation costs vary widely depending on the property, the level of work, the location and the quality of finish. While this session does not provide formal costings, it does help you think more realistically about budget, priorities and where costs are likely to sit — so you can make better decisions earlier.
No. If you already have plans, we can absolutely incorporate them into the discussion. But many clients book before they have drawings, because they want clarity before moving into that stage.
Yes — we regularly work with homeowners across Manchester, Cheshire and the North West, including period homes, family homes and properties with renovation potential. We can travel all over the UK if required.
After the session, you’ll receive a tailored renovation report with practical next-step guidance. From there, you may choose to move forward independently, or speak to us about further support depending on your project and needs.
This session is not focused on design details or styling decisions.
It’s designed for an earlier stage — when you need clarity on your renovation as a whole. That includes understanding your property, what to prioritise, what order to approach decisions in, and how to avoid costly mistakes before the project moves forward.
If you’re wanting advice on planning your project to avoid costly mistakes, or making sense of what to do first, this is exactly where the session adds the most value.
Design and interior decisions can absolutely come later — but only once the right foundations are in place.
The Strategy Session is a standalone service and many clients use it independently. However, if you decide you’d like additional support and move forward with our design services, part of your Strategy Session investment can be credited back.
