Our clients were inspired by a new chapter in their lives—both of their adult children had recently left for university, and they saw this as the perfect opportunity to reimagine their forever home. Having last renovated 15 years ago, they were ready for a transformation that reflected their current lifestyle and aspirations; to create a cohesive, contemporary, and homely design that would stand the test of time while enhancing everyday functionality. The project involved a complete internal reconfiguration of both the ground and first floors.
This project is a testament to how interior design can be both beautiful, comfortable and highly functional. Several unique design innovations were introduced to elevate the home’s usability, aesthetic, and emotional resonance:
Snug and Home Office Zones: The inclusion of a cosy snug and a stylish home office reflects the evolving needs of modern living—providing spaces for relaxation and remote work without compromising on design integrity.
Utility Room Transformation: What began as a small, inefficient space was reimagined into a multifunctional utility hub. It now includes bespoke storage solutions and a custom dog wash station, seamlessly integrating pet care into the daily routine—a rare but highly practical feature.
Double Island Kitchen Design: The kitchen features a double island layout, a bold and unconventional choice that enhances both workflow and social interaction. One island is dedicated to cooking, while the other serves as a hosting, gathering space and informal workstation, creating a dynamic heart of the home.
Integrated Pet-Friendly Design: Beyond the dog wash station, the entire home was designed with the family’s dogs in mind. Materials, layouts, and circulation paths were chosen to ensure the space is as welcoming and practical for pets as it is for people.
Smart Lighting and Electrical Planning: A fully reimagined lighting and electrical layout ensures optimal ambiance and functionality throughout the home. Layered lighting schemes and smart controls enhance mood, efficiency, and adaptability.
