I’m delighted to receive the news that my company has been awarded a “Best Of Houzz” badge for customer service this year for the Merseyside region.  Interior design and home renovation can be such a stressful and daunting process, therefore it’s really important for me to not only design something great for my clients, but to also deliver a supportive, efficient and quality service that makes the process more seamless.

The interior design process

This year I’m working on an exciting array of interior design projects. Private residences for house extensions, new build show homes and apartment conversions for the buy-to-let market make up some of my current work. Whilst each of these type projects are very different in their design briefs, I always maintain a consistent approach with each and every client. It starts off with an in depth exploration of the client’s needs so I can tailor the service to suit. The result is a flexible working arrangement that places communication and collaboration at its core.

It’s not like on Changing Rooms!

‘Why work with an interior designer?’ you may ask. Well, working with a designer has so many benefits, however some people can be intimidated with the assumption that it will be unaffordable or like you see on the tv shows like Changing Rooms (I know this is an oldie). The problem is that tv shows don’t portray interior design in its true form and they can often give the illusion that things happen over night, with no communication and all of a sudden a room is revealed at the very end, where the client has had no say in the matter. Well let me tell you… it’s not like that at all!

Some of these shows can mislead you into thinking that a renovation can be carried out very easily and there are lots of quick fixes, however the reality is generally not the case. There are so many decisions, so many problems that can and often will crop up and so many time constraints when you have to fit it around work and just life in general. The reality can then hit you like a ton of bricks when you have attempted to do it all on your own with no professional help.
